October 28, 2021

Singleton Construction, LLC has further expanded its executive leadership team, appointing Kennie Hatfield as President.

Kennie brings to Singleton Construction more than 20 years of construction and leadership experience, having managed construction projects from prospect to closeout and leading the implementation of some of the nation’s leading retail companies’ successful facility expansion and renovation projects.

In his new role, Kennie will oversee workforce development, championing the firms’ efforts with Workforce Development Equity and Inclusion (WDE&I) and employee training programs. He will lead Preconstruction activities and utilize his experience within operations to support that arm of the business and bring Singleton Construction to opportunities where they can expand their areas of expertise with ground up construction.

“Kennie and I have been friends for many years, and he has been a primary advisor for me, over the past 10 years, in the industry. I have always admired his work ethic and leadership style, as well as his passion for the construction industry and how much he is valued by customers. I am extremely confident in his abilities to lead and help guide the Singleton Construction team as we continue to expand our business. With Kennie’s addition to the team, “my focus will be leading the development and implementation of our strategic plan,” says Denise Doczy DeLong, CEO of Singleton Construction.

Kennie most recently served as President for Tri-C Construction. Kennie began his career at Tri-C in 1999, as a field Superintendent and moved into the office working in estimating, project management, and operations, until his appointment to President. In that role, Hatfield managed all aspects of planning, organization development, and implementation of design and construction for retail, senior living, corporate campuses, multi-family, hospitality, and industrial projects across the country.

Kennie’s experience with different types of construction, building types, and talent for facilitating creative building solutions for clients with complex programmatic needs will be integral as he joins the fast-growing, women-owned and operated, family construction business, that is Singleton Construction.

“I am really excited to be here and be a part of the culture of Singleton Construction, that Denise has built. There is a great opportunity here to leverage and diversify relationships with existing clients and continue the upward growth that Singleton is experiencing,” said Kennie Hatfield.
