In May 2023, Columbus Business First recognized Singleton Construction as one of the largest Central Ohio Women Owned Businesses.
This honor was given to companies based in the counties of Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, or Union that were 51% or more owned by one or more women in 2022.
There are many social and cultural barriers that make it difficult for women to own their own businesses. These challenges include family and child-rearing responsibilities, lack of maternity leave, lack of affordable childcare, limited community support, differences in career experiences, educational disparities, and more.
